NHL: St. Louis 4, Dallas 2

ST. LOUIS, April 2 (UPI) -- Two goals by Lee Stempniak Monday night helped give St. Louis a 4-2 victory over the previously hot Dallas Stars.

Dallas had won 10 of its last 12 contests to move into contention for the Pacific Division title, but the Stars stayed four points behind first-place Anaheim.

Glen Metropolit and Doug Weight scored the other St. Louis goals and Curtis Sanford made 28 saves. It was the Blues' third win over Dallas in four meetings.

The Dallas goals came from Brenden Morrow and Mike Ribeiro.

Ribeiro tied the game with less than seven minutes left in the second period, but the Blues took control with two goals 17 seconds apart.
