NHL: San Jose 4, Phoenix 2

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 31 (UPI) -- Patrick Rissmiller had a goal and an assist Friday night to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 4-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.

After a scoreless first period, San Jose out-scored Phoenix, 2-1, in each of the second and third periods.

Christian Ehrhoff (power play), Scott Hannan, and Jonathan Cheechoo also scored goals; while Evgeni Nabokov made 25 saves on 27 shots for the Sharks, who have 100 points.

Both the Sharks and Dallas are four points behind Pacific Division-leading Anaheim in the Western Conference.

Fredrik Sjostrom and Steven Reinprecht both scored once; and Curtis Joseph made 21 saves on 25 shots for the Coyotes, who suffered their fourth straight loss and will miss the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

They are tied with Chicago for the fewest points in the West.

Both clubs have 65 points.
