Henin in Sony quarterfinals; Clijsters out

MIAMI, March 26 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Belgian Justine Henin won in the fourth round, while former world No. 1 Belgian Kim Clijsters lost Monday at the $3.45 million Sony Ericsson Open.

Henin, the French Open champion, defeated Russian Vera Zvonareva 6-3, 6-2. The world No. 1, Henin reached all four Grand Slam finals last season and has now won her last 11 matches, including titles in Dubai and Doha.

Henin's quarterfinal opponent Russian Nadia Petrova beat her countrywoman Dinara Safina 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Clijsters, making her final appearance in Miami, lost to Chinese Na Li 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in 1 hour, 55 minutes. Clijsters committed seven double faults and had her serve broken seven times.

Clijsters has announced that 2007 will be her final season on the WTA Tour.

Russian Anna Chakvetadze beat Italian Mara Santangelo 6-1, 7-5, and Italian Tathiana Garbin defeated Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 6-2.
