NHL: Carolina 3, Florida 1

RALEIGH, N.C., March 13 (UPI) -- Scott Walker made the game-winning goal with 15.3 seconds left in the second period Tuesday as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Florida Panthers, 3-1.

Cory Stillman and Rod Brind'Amour also scored for the Hurricanes. John Grahame stopped 26-of-27 shots.

Jozef Stumpel scored the lone goal for the Panthers, who lost for just the second time in their last six games. Ed Belfour made 31 saves in the loss.

Florida defenseman Ruslan Salei was sent off for delay-of-game with 1:24 remaining in the second period. On the ensuing power play, Walker grabbed a loose puck and drove it over a fallen Belfour to give Carolina a 2-1 lead.
