Allenby, Wi share Honda lead

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 2 (UPI) -- Robert Allenby shot a 2-under 68 Friday to move into a tie for the lead with Charlie Wi after two rounds of the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Wi, playing in the worst of the afternoon winds at the PGA National course, overcame an early triple-bogey to fire a 70.

Allenby and Wi were at 5-under 135 while Steve Stricker and Will MacKenzie were tied for third at 137. Among those at 138 was Camilo Villegas, while Padraig Harrington was included in the group at 139.

This is the first stop on the PGA Tour's Florida swing, which leads up to the initial major championship of the year -- The Masters.

Wi began play on the back nine Friday. He quickly made a triple-bogey at the 11th, but he fought back with six birdies and a bogey the rest of the way.
