NHL: Phoenix 5, Colorado 4 (SO)

DENVER, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A shoot-out goal by Ladislav Nagy was the difference Friday night as Phoenix topped the Colorado Avalanche, 5-4.

It was the only goal in the shoot-out.

Yanic Perreault scored twice in the third period to rally the Coyotes from a 4-2 deficit.

His second goal came at 9:17 of the third and created the extra time.

Steve Reinprecht and Owen Nolan also scored goals in regulation; and Curtis Joseph, who made a combined four saves in the overtime and shoot-out, totaled 23 stops on 27 shots for the Coyotes, who have split their last four games overall, and won for the first time in their last 11 games at Colorado.

Antti Laaksonen had a goal and an assist; Ian Laperriere and Brett Clark both had two assists; and Peter Budaj gave up four goals on 29 shots for the Avalanche, who won their last two games before the all-star break.

Perreault scored the game's lone power play goal.
