NHL: Ottawa 6, Philadelphia 1

OTTAWA, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Two goals and an assist Sunday from Dany Heatley helped the Ottawa Senators sail past Philadelphia, 6-1.

Daniel Alfredsson scored and had two assists and Martin Gerber made 20 saves as the Senators won for the sixth time in eight outings.

It was the third loss in a row for the Flyers, whose only goal came from R.J. Umberger.

After Philadelphia cut its deficit to 2-1 early in the second, Ottawa scored three times in the period to take control. Two of the three goals came from Heatley -- one of them on a breakaway at 9:46.
