COL FB: Boise State 43, Oklahoma 42 (OT)

GLENDALE, Ariz., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Ian Johnson rushed for a two-point conversion in overtime Monday night as No. 9 Boise State beat No. 7 Oklahoma, 43-42, in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz.

Johnson finished with 100 yards and a touchdown on 24 rushes for the Broncos (13-0), who led by 18 in the second half but needed late heroics to force overtime after the Sooners forged a 35-28 lead with less than a minute left in regulation.

Trailing, 42-35, in overtime, Boise State scored on a five-yard touchdown pass from Vinny Perretta to Derek Schouman -- and then decided to go for two, rather than kick a point-after for the tie.

Jared Zabransky connected on 19-of-29 passes for 263 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for Boise State, and was named MVP in the game.

Adrian Peterson -- back in action for Oklahoma after missing seven games with a broken collarbone -- gained 77 yards and scored twice on 20 rushes. Paul Thompson was 19-of-32 passing for 231 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions for Oklahoma (11-3), which won the Big 12 title and came into the game with an eight-game winning streak.
