TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Richard Hendrix had 34 points and 10 rebounds Saturday as the fourth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide routed Alabama State, 92-58.

Hendrix was 15-of-19 from the floor. Alonzo Gee added 16 points as Alabama (8-1) won for the eighth time in its last nine games.

Andrew Hayles had 21 points for Alabama State (2-5), which has lost three straight.

The Crimson Tide, which shot 69 percent from the field, got off to a quick start and built a 51-30 halftime lead.
