NFL: New England 28, Detroit 21

FOXBORO, Mass., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Corey Dillon scored on a four-yard run late in the game Sunday as New England rallied to beat the Detroit Lions, 28-21.

It was Dillon's second touchdown in the fourth quarter and third of the contest.

Tom Brady went 27-for-38 passing for 305 yards, no touchdowns and one interception doe New England. Reche Caldwell caught eight passes for 112 yards for the Patriots (9-3) -- who overcame three turnovers, 72 penalty yards and a 21-13 fourth quarter deficit.

Dillon became the 15th player ever with at least 11,000 rushing yards for his career.

Jon Kitna had one touchdown pass, three interceptions and a critical fumble for Detroit. Mike Furrey scored a touchdown on nine receptions for 123 yards while Kevin Jones rushed for 56 yards and added 86 receiving yards for the Lions (2-10), who have lost four games in a row.

The Patriots rose to 20-5 in December under Coach Bill Belichick.
