NFL: Jacksonville 24, Miami 10

MIAMI, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- David Garrard threw two touchdown passes Sunday as Jacksonville beat the Miami Dolphins, 24-10.

Garrard -- who is the permanent starting quarterback since Byron Leftwich was placed on the injured reserve list after left ankle surgery -- completed 16 of 22 passes for 229 yards and no interceptions.

Matt Jones scored once on six receptions for 128 yards for Jacksonville. Fred Taylor gained 76 yards on 19 carries, and Maurice Jones-Drew scored once on five carries for 46 yards for the Jaguars (7-5), who remained in the AFC playoff picture.

Joey Harrington went 27-for-42 for one touchdown, 267 yards and two interceptions for Miami. Chris Chambers caught eight passes for 121 yards, Marty Booker caught a touchdown pass, and Sammy Morris rushed for 47 yards on 12 carries for the Dolphins (5-7), whose four-game winning streak ended.

Miami went 80 yards on 14 plays on its opening series to claim a 7-0 lead, but the Jaguars responded with 24 unanswered points.
