LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Teemu Selanne's third-period power-play goal lifted the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-3 win over the Kings Saturday afternoon.
The victory continued the best start in franchise history for the Ducks, who withstood a three-goal third period by the Kings to improve their record to 20-2-6.
Selanne's goal at 1:12 of the third period was his second power play goal of the contest.
Travis Moen had a goal and an assist, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 38 saves on 41 shots as the Ducks won their season-high fifth straight game.
Scott Thornton, Rob Blake and Dustin Brown all scored goals in the third period for Los Angeles. Lubomir Visnovsky had two assists, and Dan Cloutier gave up four goals on 29 shots for the Kings, whose losing streak against Anaheim grew to seven straight games.
On the power play, Anaheim was 2-for-6, and Los Angeles was 2-for-7.
