SEATTLE, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The Seattle Mariners Saturday announced they have signed infielder-outfielder Willie Bloomquist to a one-year contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal keeps Bloomquist with the Mariners through the 2008 season.

The 29-year old utility man appeared in 102 games at seven different positions for the Mariners in 2006. He set career-highs in at-bats (251), runs scored (36) and stolen bases (16), while batting .247 with one home run and 15 RBI.
In 378 career games, all with Seattle, Bloomquist has hit .257 with four homers and 76 RBI.
