NHL: Boston 4, Pittsburgh 3 (SO)

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- A shootout goal by Marco Sturm Wednesday night gave the Boston Bruins a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh.

Sturm also scored a goal in regulations, and Zdeno Chara and Stanislav Chistov added power-play goals.

Brian Finley allowed one goal on seven shots before leaving after the first period with a lower body injury.

His replacement, Tim Thomas, made 16 saves on 18 shots; and added three more saves in the shootout, as the Bruins beat the Penguins for the eighth straight time.

Mark Recchi had two goals, Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves on 31 shots for the Penguins, who had won three of their previous four games.

On the power play, Boston went 2-for-6, and Pittsburgh was 1-for-9.
