COL BKB: Washington 83, Sacramento St. 74

SEATTLE, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Quincy Pondexter scored 22 points and the No. 17 Washington Huskies used tight defense in taking an 83-74 victory over the Sacramento State Hornets.

Sacramento State, 2-3, led 23-12 eight minutes into Sunday's game but Washington, 4-0, worked back into the game. The Huskies tied the score at 35-35 and, with three minutes left in the half, Jon Brockman hit a shot that set off an 11-3 Washington run to close out the half.

Pondexter added nine rebounds and four assists to his 22 points while Spencer Hawes scored 14 points and Brockman 13 for the Huskies.

Sacramento State, which shot just 35 percent for the game, got a team-leading 19 points and eight rebounds from Alex Bausley.
