COL BKB: Georgia Tech 79, Purdue 61

LAHAINA, Hawaii, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- No. 19 Georgia Tech downed Purdue, 79-61, Monday in the opening round of the Maui Invitational in Hawaii.

Javaris Crittenton poured in 20 points and dished out five assists, Lewis Clinch scored 14 points and Zach Peacock and Thaddeus Young each scored 13 for Georgia Tech (4-0), which shot 49 percent from the floor.

The Yellow Jackets now face No. 12 Memphis in the semifinals on Tuesday. The Tigers defeated Oklahoma 77-65 earlier in the day.

Carl Landry had a team-high 14 points and also brought down nine rebounds for the Boilermakers (2-1).
