Flyers forward Carter out for six weeks

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Philadelphia forward Jeff Carter has a broken bone in his left leg and will miss about six weeks of NHL action, the Flyers said Tuesday.

Carter injured his leg in Thursday's game against Tampa Bay. An MRI Tuesday indicated a fracture of the left tibia near the ankle, the team said. Flyers trainer Jim McCrossin said Carter "should be out for approximately six weeks."
