NHL: N.Y. Rangers 3, San Jose 1

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Kevin Weekes made 29 saves and Matt Cullen, Martin Straka and Brendan Shanahan scored goals Wednesday night, as the New York Rangers beat San Jose, 3-1.

The Rangers have won two straight games, and head back to New York after a 3-1 West Coast trip.

Kyle McLaren scored for the Sharks, who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Evgeni Nabokov yielded two goals on 18 shots.

New York was 0-for-3 on the power play while San Jose was scoreless on five power-play chances.
