NHL: Detroit 3, St. Louis 2

DETROIT, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Tomas Holmstrom scored two goals Saturday night to help the Detroit Red Wings beat St. Louis, 3-2.

Valtteri Filppula scored his first career goal, Pavel Datsyuk had two assists and goaltender Chris Osgood made 28 saves on 30 shots for the Red Wings (6-4-1), who lead the Central Division with 13 points.

Bill Guerin and Radek Dvorak each scored a goal and goalie Manny Legace yielded three goals on 25 shots for the Blues (3-4-2), who have eight points and are tied with Chicago for third place in the Central Division.

On the power play, both teams went 0-for-5.
