NFL: New England 38, Cincinnati 13

CINCINNATI, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Rookie Laurence Maroney ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns Sunday as New England buried the Cincinnati Bengals, 38-13.

Maroney, a first-round draft pick out of the University of Minnesota, had only 15 carries.

Starting running back Corey Dillon, a former Bengal, added 67 yards and one touchdown on 17 attempts; Tom Brady went 15-of-26 for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception; defensive end Jarvis Green had three sacks; and the defense forced two fumbles for the Patriots (3-1).

Carson Palmer was 20-of-35 for 245 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions, but lost the two fumbles; Rudi Johnson rushed for one touchdown on 14 carries for 65 yards; and T.J. Houshmandzadeh had four catches for 95 yards for the Bengals (3-1), who had only 71 yards rushing in the contest.
