MLB: Cleveland 14, Chicago WSox 1

CLEVELAND, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Casey Blake hit a grand slam and had five RBI Monday as the Cleveland Indians routed the Chicago White Sox, 14-1.

If Minnesota wins at home later Monday against Kansas City, the defending World Series champion White Sox would be eliminated from postseason contention.

Blake's grand slam in the sixth inning was the Indians 14th grand slam as a team this season, tying them with the 2000 Oakland Athletics for the most in a single season.

Victor Martinez went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored for the Indians, who have won their last three. Cliff Lee (13-11) allowed one run on four hits over seven innings to pick up the win.

Jon Garland (17-7) allowed 12 runs -- eight earned -- on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Jim Thome's sacrifice fly provided the lone run for the White Sox, who have lost eight of their last 11 games.
