MLB: Oakland 4, Cleveland 3

OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Frank Thomas hit a two-run double to cap a three-run seventh inning Wednesday night as Oakland edged the Cleveland Indians, 4-3.

Milton Bradley hit a solo homer and had two runs, two hits, and two RBI; and Mark Ellis had a run and two hits for the Athletics (88-63), who have won three of their last four games.

Winner Estaban Loaiza (11-8) gave up three runs and five hits in 7 2/3 innings with one walk and four strikeouts.

Huston Street earned his 35th save of the season.

Kevin Kouzmanoff, Ryan Garko, and Victor Martinez all had one RBI; and Joe Inglett had two of the seven hits for the Indians (70-81), who have lost four of their last five games.

In relief, the losing pitcher was Fernando Cabrera (3-3).

Oakland has a 6½-game lead over the Los Angeles Angels in the AL West.
