MLB: Minnesota 8, Boston 2

BOSTON, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter hit a three-run homer and knocked in four runs Wednesday night as Minnesota beat the Boston Red Sox, 8-2.

Michael Cuddyer had two runs, three hits and one RBI; Lew Ford and Justin Morneau each hit an RBI single; Jason Bartlett drove in a run; and Hunter, Rondell White, Luis Castillo, Jason Tyner and Joe Mauer all had two hits for the Twins (90-61), who have a four-game winning streak.

Winner Boof Bonser (6-5) gave up two runs and seven hits over seven innings with no walks and five strikeouts.

David Ortiz hit his 50th home run of the season, a solo blast in the bottom of the sixth inning, and had two of the seven hits; and Dustin Pedroia had two hits and one RBI for the Red Sox (81-71), who have split their last four games.

In relief, the losing pitcher was Craig Hansen (2-2).
