MLB: Milwaukee 4, St. Louis 3

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Tony Graffanino singled in Drew Anderson in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cards, 4-3.

Damian Miller singled to left field to begin the ninth against Braden Looper (9-2) before being replaced by Anderson. Jeff Cirillo followed with a sacrifice bunt and Tony Gwynn flied out to left field. Graffanino then grounded a single to left field and the Brewers won for just the sixth time in their last 23 games.

Albert Pujols tied a career-high with his 46th homer of the season, a three-run smash in the seventh inning, for the Cardinals. St. Louis' magic number was lowered to seven to clinch the NL Central crown as Cincinnati lost at Houston Monday night.

Geoff Jenkins homered to lead off the bottom of the second inning

Gwynn tripled with one out in the fifth and scored on a Graffanino sacrifice fly, and it became 3-0 in the sixth when Corey Hart tripled in Jenkins.
