NEW YORK, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Jose Reyes hit a three-run homer in the third inning Wednesday night to help the New York Mets beat St. Louis, 10-8, for their sixth straight win.
Carlos Delgado had two runs, two hits and one RBI; Chris Woodward had one run, two hits and three RBI; David Wright had two runs and one hit; and Endy Chavez had a run and two hits for the Mets (77-48), who have seven wins in their last 10 games.
Winner Steve Trachsel (13-5) gave up six runs and six hits in five innings.
Billy Wagner recoded his 32nd save.
Preston Wilson, Scott Rolen and Jose Vizcaino hit home runs; Ronny Belliard had one run, two hits and one RBI; and Albert Pujols had two hits and two RBI for the Cardinals (66-59), who have dropped three of their last four games.
Loser Mark Mulder (6-6) gave up nine runs and nine hits in three innings.
