
NEW YORK, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- David Wright had two hits and two RBI Friday night to help the New York Mets beat Colorado, 6-3.
Endy Chavez had two hits, including a two-run homer; Michael Tucker hit an RBI double; Chris Woodward hit a sacrifice fly; and Carlos Beltran had two runs and two hits for the Mets (73-48), who have six wins in their last 10 games.
Winning pitcher Steve Trachsel (12-5) gave up three runs and seven hits in seven innings with three walks and six strikeouts.
Garrett Atkins had three hits, including a two-run homer; losing pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim hit an RBI single; and Yorvit Torrealba had a run and two hits for the Rockies (59-63), who have dropped three of their last four games.
Kim (7-8) surrendered eight hits and six runs in 4 1/3 innings.
