STANFORD, Calif., July 26 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Belgian Kim Clijsters won her second-round match Wednesday at the Bank of the West Classic at Stanford, Calif.
The reigning U.S. Open champion -- and three-time Bank of the West champion -- overcame a sluggish start to beat unseeded Serb Jelena Jankovic 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

Tatiana Golovin of France scored a mild upset, beating sixth-seeded Japanese Ai Sugiyama, 6-2, 6-3.
In a battle of Americans, Jill Craybas beat qualifier Shenay Perry, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2). Australia's Samantha Stosur upset seventh seed Shahar Peer of Israel, 7-5, 6-3.
