MLB: Florida 2, Atlanta 1

ATLANTA, July 25 (UPI) -- Rookie Anibal Sanchez pitched seven innings of one-run ball Tuesday to lead the Florida Marlins to a 2-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Sanchez (4-0), who picked up his fourth win in six starts, gave up the one run on seven hits with three strikeouts for the Marlins, who have won four straight and five of their last six games.

Cody Ross provided the offense with two solo home runs for Florida.

Marcus Giles was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Ryan Langerhans had the lone extra-base hit, a double in the sixth, and the lone run for the Braves.

Chuck James (4-1), who had won his first four starts, suffered the loss after giving up two runs on seven hits in seven innings.
