Report: Wallace to leave Pistons for Bulls

CHICAGO, July 4 (UPI) -- Detroit Pistons forward Ben Wallace has reportedly agreed to a 4-year, $60 million contract with the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The 6-foot-9, four-time winner of the Defensive Player of the Year Award will have to wait until July 12 to sign, when the NBA reviews and approves contracts.

The Bulls offer bested the Pistons', which sources told the New York Times was a 4-year package worth $49 million.

The 31-year-old Wallace averaged 7.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and a career-high 1.8 steals to anchor Detroit's defense last season. In his 10-year career, Wallace has averaged 6.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.
