ANAHEIM, Calif., June 29 (UPI) -- Jorge Piedra hit a three-run double in the top of the eighth inning Wednesday night to help Colorado beat the L.A. Angels, 6-2.
Cory Sullivan had a run and three hits; Garrett Atkins had one run, two hits, and one RBI; and Brad Hawpe drove in a run for the Rockies (40-38), who have won four of their last five games.

In 1/3 of an inning, winning pitcher Ramon Ramirez improved to 3-1, after facing just one batter in the seventh.
Vladimir Guerrero had one run and three hits; while Mike Napoli and Juan Rivera each drove in a run for the Angels (35-43), who have lost three of four following a three-game winning streak.
Loser Scot Shields (4-5) gave up four runs in the eighth.
