MLB: N.Y. Mets 5, Philadelphia 4

PHILADELPHIA, June 15 (UPI) -- David Wright hit a key three-run homer Thursday afternoon to help the New York Mets edge Philadelphia Phillies, 5-4, finishing a three-game sweep.

Jose Reyes had two runs and two hits, while Endy Chaves knocked in a run for the Mets (42-23), who have won their last eight games and are on their longest winning streak since April 16-25, 2000, when they won nine in a row.

Winner Steve Trachsel (4-4) allowed four runs and six hits in six innings with two walks and no strikeouts.

Pat Burrell homered twice and drove in three runs, and Sal Fasano drove in the other run for the Phillies (33-33), who have lost four straight and six of their last seven games.

Losing pitcher Cory Lidle (4-6) surrendered five runs and six hits in six-plus innings.

Philadelphia trails the Mets by 9 1/2 games in the National League East.
