MLB: Chicago WSox 4, Detroit 3

CHICAGO, June 6 (UPI) -- Alex Cintron hit his first home run in a White Sox uniform Tuesday, a three-run shot powered Chicago to a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Brandon McCarthy (3-3), who pitched two scoreless innings with one walk and two strikeouts got the win. Freddy Garcia started the game for Chicago and picked up a no-decision after yielding three runs on eight hits with two walks and five strikeouts in six innings.

Fernando Rodney (4-2) suffered the loss after giving up Cintron's three-run homer in his one inning of work. Starter Nate Robertson allowed one run on six hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Detroit catcher Ivan Rodriguez left the game after the bottom of the second inning with back spasms. He is listed as day-to-day.

Marcus Thames, Brandon Inge and Chris Shelton all had solo home runs for Detroit, losers in three of its last four games.
