PHILADELPHIA, May 28 (UPI) -- Ryan Howard had two hits Sunday, including a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth inning, as Philadelphia beat Milwaukee, 6-2.
Chase Utley had one run, two hits and one RBI; and winning pitcher Ryan Madson hit a two-run single for the Phillies (25-24). Philadelphia avoided a three-game Milwaukee sweep with the victory.
Madson (5-3) surrendered two runs and seven hits in five innings with one walk and seven strikeouts.
Corey Koskie hit a two-run homer, Brady Clark had three hits, and Prince Fielder had a run and a hit for the Brewers (25-24), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Milwaukee had beaten the Phillies five straight times before the contest.
In five innings, loser Dana Eveland (0-2) gave up four runs and six hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
