MLB: San Diego 10, San Francisco 4

SAN FRANCISCO, May 2 (UPI) -- Jake Peavy allowed two runs over eight innings in pacing the visiting San Diego Padres to a 10-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

Vinny Castilla and Rob Bowen each had bases-loaded hits during a 7-run San Diego fourth inning Monday that made things easier for Peavy (2-3). Jamey Wright (2-2) allowed eight earned runs in 5 2/3 innings in taking the loss.

Peavy allowed a pair of runs in the San Francisco third inning with Omar Vizquel knocking in one run and Peavy allowing Wright to score on a wild pitch.

But the next inning was all Padres. Castilla and Bowen each singled to knock in a pair of runs and Khalil Greene scored on an error to make the score 3-2. Dave Roberts followed with a two-run double and Peavy scored on a sacrifice fly before Brian Giles finished the rally with a run-scoring single to make the score 7-2.

San Diego added three runs in the sixth, with Giles, Mark Bellhorn and Adrian Gonzalez each getting RBI. Todd Greene singled on one run and Randy Winn got another run home in the Giants' ninth.
