MLB: Pittsburgh 3, Philadelphia 2

PITTSBURGH, April 29 (UPI) -- Jeromy Burnitz hit a key two-run homer in the fourth inning Saturday night as Pittsburgh beat Philadelphia, 3-2.

Chris Duffy drove in the other run and Jason Bay doubled and scored a run for the Pirates (7-18), who have won back-to-back games for just the second time this season.

Winning pitcher Paul Maholm (1-3) gave up one run and six hits in seven innings with two walks and four strikeouts.

Pat Burrell and Aaron Rowand each drove in a run for the Phillies (9-14). Philadelphia has a three-game losing streak.

Loser Cory Lidle (2-3) yielded only three runs and four hits in six innings with no walks and six strikeouts.

Rowland hit a solo home run in the eight inning.
