MLB: Arizona 4, San Diego 1

SAN DIEGO, April 25 (UPI) -- Arizona pitcher Brandon Webb threw eight solid innings and drove in a run in the Diamondbacks' 4-1 triumph over the home-field San Diego Padres.

Webb (3-0) scattered six hits and struck out four without allowing a walk to win his third straight start. Johnny Estrada drove in two runs and Shawn Green had two hits and scored twice for the Diamondbacks, winners in two of their last three contests. Chad Tracy also drove in a run for Arizona in the opener of the three-game series.

Jose Valverde struck out two batters in the final inning for his fourth save.

Vinny Castilla's sacrifice fly in the fifth inning accounted for the lone San Diego run, as the Padres lost for the second time in three games.

Chan Ho Park (1-1) was charged with nine hits and four runs over 8 2/3 innings.
