SAN FRANSCISCO, Calif., April 15 (UPI) -- Jamey Wright hurled eight strong innings Friday night as San Francisco edged the Los Angeles Dodgers, 2-1.
Ray Durham had the game-winning RBI in the ninth; Randy Winn hit a solo home run; and Barry Bonds went 0-for-2 with two walks to pass Mel Ott for the Giants' franchise record with 1,709 in his career.

Winning pitcher Wright (2-0) allowed one run and five hits in eight innings with two walks and five strikeouts for the Giants (6-3). San Francisco has won four of its past five games.
Jeff Kent hit a solo home run and Dioner Navarro went 2-for-3 for the Dodgers (5-6). Los Angeles has dropped three of its last four games.
Loser Hong-Chih-Kuo fell to 0-2.
