MLB: Arizona 4, Colorado 2

DENVER, April 6 (UPI) -- Luis Gonzalez broke a tie with a double and scored a run in the eighth inning in pacing the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Gonzalez had three hits in Wednesday night's game. His long fly to center resulted in a two-base hit in the sixth and allowed Chad Tracy to score for a 3-2 Arizona lead to hand Colorado starter Aaron Cook (0-1) the loss.

Gonzalez scored the game's final run, scooting home on a single by Shawn Green.

Arizona starter Orlando Hernandez (1-0) collected the victory in his first start for the Diamondbacks, giving up six hits over five innings and single runs in the third and fourth innings. He struck out eight.

Arizona scored twice in the first off Cook with Craig Counsell scoring on a ground out and Orlando Hudson reaching home in a base hit from Gonzalez.

Todd Helton doubled in Clint Barmes in the Colorado third and Garrett Atkins tied the score 2-2, scoring on a base hit by the Rockies' Luis A. Gonzalez.
