NFL announces big 2006 TV games

ORLANDO, Fla., March 29 (UPI) -- The NFL released part of its 2006 season schedule, a slate that features the first Monday night doubleheader and Thanksgiving Day tripleheader.

Games kick off Sept. 7 at 8:30 p.m. EDT with defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers facing the Miami Dolphins and their new quarterback, Daunte Culpepper.

The Sept. 10 primetime game is being called the "Manning Bowl" and features Indianapolis Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning vs. his brother Eli Manning and the New York Giants. This is the first time two brothers will start quarterback against each other.

And in the Monday Night Football games, the Minnesota Vikings face the Washington Redskins at 7 p.m. and the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders meet at 10:15 p.m.

For Thanksgiving Day, the Detroit Lions will play the Dolphins, the Dallas Cowboys play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Denver Broncos will play the Kansas City Chiefs.

The rest of the season schedule will be announced in April.
