Chris Kaman completed a 3-point play to put Los Angeles up 51-50 with 8:44 left in the third period but the Spurs answered with a 13-0 run that included a Brent Barry 3-point shot and a Duncan lay-up that finished off the spurt.

The Clippers closed within 66-61 late in the period but Barry hit another 3-pointer and Nazr Mohammed added a 12-foot jumper to provide San Antonio added cushion.

Duncan and Finley each scored eight points in the fourth quarter to keep Los Angeles at length.

Elton Brand had 20 points to lead the Clippers while Kaman finished with 18.

The Spurs played without leading scorer Tony Parker, who was out with a bruised right shin.
