MIAMI, March 25 (UPI) -- Veteran American Jill Craybas upset defending champion Kim Clijsters in Saturday's second-round action at the $3.45 million NASDAQ-100 Open in Miami.
Craybas, 31, defeated second-seeded Clijsters, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5. Craybas broke the U.S. Open champion Clijsters' serve six times on Day 4 of the tournament.

Sixth-seeded Russian slugger Elena Dementieva avoided an upset by beating Georgian Anna Tatishvili, 6-3, 6-1. Dementieva -- last week's Indian Wells, Calif., runner-up to her countrywoman Sharapova -- will face the Netherlands' Michaella Krajicek in the round of 32.
In another upset, Russian Elena Vesnina defeated ninth-seeded Italian Francesca Schiavone, 6-2, 6-3.
