NBA: LA Lakers 105, Boston 97

BOSTON, March 20 (UPI) -- NBA scoring leader Kobe Bryant had 43 points Monday to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 105-97 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Bryant hit 18-of-39 shots from the floor and scored 16 points in the fourth quarter, as the Lakers won for just the second time in their last six games.

Lamar Odom had 17 points and Smush Parker added 14 for Los Angeles.

Paul Pierce had 26 points and nine rebounds, but scored just two points in the fourth quarter for Boston, which lost for the fourth time in five games.

Tony Allen added 18 points and Wally Szczerbiak 15 for the Celtics, who have lost five of their last seven games.
