
SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Chris Paul had 23 points and eight assists Saturday as the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets beat the Utah Jazz, 100-95.
David West added 20 points and eight rebounds for the Hornets, who ended a two-game losing streak. Linton Johnson scored a career-high 17 points off the bench and also had 11 rebounds in the victory.
Mehmet Okur led the Jazz with 26 points and six rebounds, Carlos Boozer added 15 points and Deron Williams 14, as Utah lost for the fourth time in its last five games.
Utah was down by 10 points at the end of the third quarter, but opened the fourth with a 9-2 run to close the gap to three points at 84-81.
Both teams went back-and-forth down the stretch and with the game knotted at 95-95, Paul was fouled inside by Williams and hit two from the foul line to put the Hornets up two points with 25.2 seconds left.
