Weather halts play at Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- The second round of the Malaysian Open at Kuala Lumpur was suspended Friday because of lightning storms.

More than half the field still needs to complete the second round.

In the clubhouse, David Park is the leader after an 8-under 64 on Friday. He stands at 13-under-par 131 through 36 holes.

Two-time defending champion Thongchai Jaidee carded a 9-under 63 and is tied for second place with Thammanoon Srirot (65) at 12-under-par 132. Soren Kjeldsen (63) is alone in fourth place at 11-under 133.

John Bickerton (68) and Charlie Wi (68) are tied for fifth place at 10-under-par 134. Keith Horne shot a 5-under 67 and is alone in seventh place at 9-under 135 and Chinarat Phadungsil (68) is at 8-under-par 136.

First-round leader Miguel Angel Jimenez shot a 5-over 77 and is part of a group tied for 47th place at 3-under 141.
