GREEN BAY, Wis., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- The Green Bay Packers introduced Mike McCarthy Thursday as their new head coach, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported.
McCarthy, 42, comes to the Packers from the San Francisco 49ers, where he was offensive coordinator. He is the 14th coach in Packers history, replacing Mike Sherman -- who was fired Jan. 2 after six seasons.

McCarthy spent the 1999 season as the Packers' quarterbacks coach under Ray Rhodes.
