NBA: Washington 112, Phoenix 111

PHOENIX, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Gilbert Arenas scored 41 points as the visiting Washington Wizards held on to beat the Phoenix Suns, 112-111, at America West Arena.

Caron Butler added 26 for the Wizards, and Antawn Jamison scored 22 points and added 13 boards for Washington while Jared Jeffries had nine points.

Steve Nash led the Suns with 27 points and nine assists. James Jones had 18 points and seven rebounds for Phoenix while Kurt Thomas added a season-high 18 points. Shawn Marion had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Suns, while Raja Bell also reached double figures with 15.
