ATLANTA, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Elton Brand had 23 points and seven rebounds Thursday night to lead the Los Angeles Clippers past Atlanta, 102-95.
Sam Cassell added 21 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, Corey Maggette had 17 points and four rebounds, and Cuttiono Mobley added 12 points, two assists and four rebounds for the Clippers (5-1).
Joe Johnson had 24 points and 10 rebounds, Al Harrington added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Zaza Pacgulia had 16 points, 13 rebounds and six assists for the Hawks (0-5), who have yet to win their first game of the young season.
The Clippers won the rebounding battle, 47-42, but they committed 17 turnovers to Atlanta's 12.
The Clippers -- formerly the Buffalo Braves (1970-78) and the San Diego Clippers (1978-84) -- started the season 5-1 just once (1985-86).
