SAN DIEGO, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Antonio Gates caught 10 catches passes and three touchdowns Sunday as the San Diego Chargers beat Kansas City, 28-20.
The receptions and touchdowns were career highs for Gates -- as were the 145 receiving yards he racked up.
Drew Brees went 25-of-43 passing for 324 yards and three touchdowns for the Chargers (4-4). San Diego recovered from its bizarre loss at Philadelphia last week.
LaDainian Tomlinson added 69 yards rushing on 17 attempts and threw his third touchdown pass of the season.
Trent Green was 31-of-43 for 347 yards and two touchdown passes for the Chiefs (4-3), whose two-game winning streak ended.
Eddie Kennison had seven receptions for 115 yards and one touchdown. Larry Johnson had 55 yards on six carries. Tony Gonzalez had seven catches for 97 yards and one touchdown.
