COL FB: Ohio State 45, Minnesota 31

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Antonio Pittman rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as 13th-ranked Ohio State beat No. 22 Minnesota, 45-31.

OSU quarterback Troy Smith completed 14-of-20 passes for 233 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Wide receivers Santonio Holmes, Ted Ginn Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez combined for 210 yards and three scores on 11 receptions.

The Buckeyes (6-2, 4-1 Big Ten) have won three in a row and five of six.

For the Golden Gophers, running back Laurence Maroney gained 127 yards on 25 carries and one touchdown, Gary Russell added 50 yards on 15 attempts and two scores, and quarterback Bryan Cupito went 26-of-35 for 396 yards and one touchdown.

OSU leads the all-time series, 38-7. The win was the ninth straight for Ohio State in Minneapolis.

Minnesota (5-3, 2-3) has lost three of its last four.
