TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Daniel Briere and Thomas Vanek each scored a shoot-out goal Thursday night as Buffalo topped Tampa Bay, 4-3.
Briere also scored a goal in regulation, Maxim Afinogenov added one, and Ryan Miller made 32 saves for the Sabres (4-1).

Vincent Lecavalier, Brad Richards and Vaclav Prospal each registered a goal and Jeff Grahame made 30 saves for the Lightning (2-3).
Tampa Bay sank to 2-for-30 on the power play this season after going 0-for-2 in this contest. The Sabres went only 1-for-9 and were out-shot, 37-36.
